Feed The Mass
About
Feed The Mass is a Portland, OR–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2016 to empower, educate, and serve the community through food. The organization addresses food insecurity while building practical cooking and nutrition skills for individuals and families. Its programs combine education with direct service, including the FED Program, FED to Home, a Summer Program, and an Education Program offering accessible digital learning and workshops. Feed The Mass turns donated ingredients into nutritious meals for vulnerable neighbors, reducing food waste and strengthening local food systems.
Since inception, the organization reports delivering more than 1,000,000 meals and sourcing over 2,000,000 pounds of food for meal production, in collaboration with partner agencies across the Portland metro area. Additional efforts include FEDRx, an initiative that connects nutrition support to health-related social needs.
Feed The Mass engages the community through volunteer opportunities, workforce and board participation, and events that support program growth. Guided by a mission to expand access to reliable, high-quality nutrition, the team focuses on practical, scalable solutions that meet immediate needs while building long-term food and wellness knowledge in Portland’s diverse communities.
