How did you get started teaching?
My foundation in teaching began early as a high school varsity basketball player working in the programs of Hall of Fame coach Barry Adams. That experience instilled in me the value of discipline, fundamentals, and mentorship. At the same time, I was also serving as a substitute teacher in youth Sunday school, further developing my ability to connect with and guide young people. My first college experience was diverse and dynamic, with most of my coursework focused in the medical field. As my journey progressed, I continued to be drawn toward working with young athletes, volunteering in youth football and basketball programs. Through these experiences, I discovered my true passion for teaching and coaching, which ultimately led me to change my major to education. From there, I continued building my path—playing at the collegiate level, entering the classroom as a teacher, and beginning my coaching career at a small school. Over time, I worked my way up to the highest level of competition in the Metro League as a Head Coach. Along the way, I recognized a major gap in quality skill development and individualized training—something I became deeply passionate about addressing. That realization led me to found my training business in 2000..
What types of students have you worked with?
I have coached athletes at every level, from high school and collegiate competitors to professionals, bringing a well-rounded and adaptable approach to performance development. My experience includes leading coaching clinics, working closely with athletes recovering from injuries, and supporting individuals with disabilities through tailored, inclusive training methods. I focus on helping each athlete maximize their potential by building strength, resilience, and confidence in a way that meets their unique needs and goals.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look at the credentials and experience of the trainer. If they don't have a degree in some form of physical education in some form don't are waste your time.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals? Are you willing to devote the time developing your skills? Are you willing to do constructive work on your own?
