My name is Erica Baguley and I live to be an artist. I currently work for a company called Paintnight and have been hosting big art parties for the last 2 years. I also have been a CNA for the last 6 years so I know the value in patience and I love working with the elderly. I have been involved in the Portland Artist community for the past 4 year since I moved from my small town in Idaho. I come from a family of teachers so teaching comes natural to me. I mainly work with acrylics and spray paint. I have taught many students successfully with bearly any experience with both of these mediums. One student even has gone on to become a successful artist in the community. Thank you for considering me and looking forward to teaching you a new skill that will improve your life in so many ways.
Erica provided excellent instruction to my young daughter. She is a very caring and thoughtful teacher. I recommend her for teaching art to any age.
I was new to painting and she clearly explained all of the tools and supplies necessary to start the process. Additionally, her knowledge of value, color, and form helped me approach my first painting with much more confidence.
I have painted alongside Erica on many occasions. She is one of the most talented AND patient people I have ever had the honor of knowing. You can’t go wrong by working with Erica!
Erica did such an amazing job teaching us on a paint night at the end of April. She was patient and articulate. She taught me some new techniques (including how to make stars) stars everywhere btw. Ha ha. She gave a lot of good instructions but in a way that allowed for a lot of our own creativity. I did the painting right next to someone and ours both turned out great but so different. Erica has such raw talent- I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to paint with heart and soul.
Usually depends on the amount of hours and what the lesson is about. Acrylics I would generally charge $40 for 3hrs and $70 for 3 hrs of spray paint. This is because I can teach you alot about spray paint techniques in a short amount of time and acrylics take longer to learn and are less expensive.
My parents are both teachers so they inspired me to want to teach. It came naturally as I got older and started finding work to teach art. Also after going to classes in college and through taking workshops and seminars I was inspired to teach what I have learned.
Everywhere from all ages, the youngest being 7 years old. Big groups with short classes only two hours long. The students that contact me directly are usually eager to learn and have seen my work. When I work in big groups it is hosting art parties but I can usually give some one one one instruction if they are struggling.
