Derrick Campbell Guitar Teacher

I began teaching private guitar lessons when I was in college and have continued ever since. Since 1992 I have helped thousands of students achieve their dream of being able to play the guitar through private lessons, group classes and ensemble classes. I am also comfortable teaching via Zoom and Facetime and have a way of making it feel like an in-person lesson. During the 25 years I lived in Boston, I taught guitar lessons at Music Maker Studios, Noble and Greenough (a prestigious private school), and out of my home studio. I also taught group classes at the Boston Center for Adult Education and Newton Elementary School. I have extensive experience teaching all age groups.

Since moving to the Philadelphia area in 2020, I have continued teaching via Zoom, and am now teaching in-person lessons at a music studio in Swarthmore, PA. On the weekends I play in a classic rock band called the Garage Bandits, and also with an acoustic duo.

I offer first time students a free 30 minute lesson so they can learn more about my teaching methods and curriculum.
