About this pro

I have been a teacher with a past international career as dancer and choreographer. I accept children 8 years old and up and offer classes Monday to Saturday.

I love to see young people progress in their classes, using my passion for dance to inspire our students to become better dancers.

I love to see my students progress technically and artistically and realizing how they can be a great influence to the world through dance.

How did you get started teaching?

I've been teaching for over 20 years, almost as much time as I've been performing. I always love the proccess that a dancer goes through as he or she mature with the development of their craft and theirselves, so when an opportunity to be a T.A. appear at the school I was training in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, I took whole heartly and never looked back. My passion for teaching helped me to found and develop a social project called Cia. Ballet da Barra, this project uses dance to help children of less privileged areas in Manaus and has define part of my professional career by the love and sense of self fulfillment and purpose on my community.

What types of students have you worked with?

I had work with children beginning at the age of 2 up to a professional level, I  also work with students that take dance as a recreational activity and adults that have dance as their fitness regiment.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I love International Ballet Day, an event created by The Royal Ballet  (London, England) that airs every year on social media for over 24 hours featuring live classes, rehearsals and interviews with the greatest dandce companies and dance schools in the whole world. This event brings to light new choreographers, the new stars of the Ballet world and help pupils to understand all the hard work that goes behind become a great artist.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure that your dance teacher knows what he/she is teaching to avoid injuries, also make sure to be learning from someone that inspires you to do better.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

How can I progress with efficiency?

What should I do personally to improve?

How do I know I'm ready to perform?
