About

We are a family owned and operated Martial Arts studio teaching American Kenpo karate to children (ages 3 and up) and adults, as well as circuit type fitness classes and cardio kickboxing classes for teens and adults

We love to see our students set and achieve their personal goals-there is truly nothing better than watching a child earn their blackbelt that has been your student since the age of 5 or 6 and you have watched them day after day working toward that goal. Espcially rewarding for us is watching the children who come in here painfully shy, timid and reluctant to get onto the mat - their transformations are always the best! They become the most amazing, outgoing students and we love that we get to be a part of it!

Frequently asked questions

We allow students to progress at their own pace - whether that means they observe first and then participate, or they get right onto the mat and become a part of the class...each child is different and learns differently and we are well aware of this.

We have several Senseis on our mat at all times, all with different levels of training in Martial Arts. All our Senseis have been trained to work and mentor children in martial arts and self defense, and impart the same knowledge that they have learned over the years. Our Senseis are CPR certified and have PA child clearances.

Our regular monthly program is $129 for 3-6 year olds and $139 for ages 7 and above. Depending on the child and his/her experience level, a 6 year old child may be placed in the beginner class to better serve the needs of the child

We have worked with children who love Martial Arts and have always wanted to take classes, children who were reluctant to try, and everyone in between! We also have had students who are on the Autism spectrum, as well as students with physical challenges, on our mat and they have excelled in our classes!

We are always very fond of the shy and withdrawn students who, when given the time and effort, we see their true personality shine and they become a strong, independent new person right before our eyes!

Do your homework - You get what you pay for, so don't always look at the price. Make sure that you are comfortable with the studio, the staff and the instructors. Make sure you understand the policies and procedures - are they flexible? Ask questions...

Every question that comes to mind. If you are looking at getting a black belt, that is a serious time committment, as well as an investment. One that is well worth it in the long run, but make sure that you know what will be involved. If you have any limitations, make sure that they are aware.
