Trombone, Trumpet, Clarinet, Sax, Flute Lessons

When a child plays in a band, he or she is a member of a team that works together to make music. It's different than playing solo piano or guitar as each member shares the responsibility. The music is also divided into different parts, so each band member must learn his or her own part, and hold tight to that part as the other parts sometimes support theirs and sometimes diverge.

I have been teaching music for 20 years, and during the last 7 years have led student bands. Trumpet has been my band instrument since 5th grade, and during the past 10 years I've studied clarinet, flute, saxophone, and trombone with private teachers to prepare myself to lead students into good playing habits and successful outcomes.

Each student will receive instruction specific to his or her instrument, and also be involved in the same process with the other children playing different instruments. Ability to perform as a group is enhanced by knowledge of each other and each other's instrument.
