I am a violinist new in town but with 20 years of experience performing and teaching violin as a university professor at the University of Antioquia. I hold a Masters and Doctorate degree in Music, minor in Suzuki Pedagogy from the University of Memphis. I can teach students all ages and all levels. Hello, I've been a musician nearly all my life. I grew up playing the piano for churches and received my formal piano and voice training at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. I won two major piano competitions when I still just a student in High School. Currently I play keyboards and sing in a Memphis cover band, Sassy Jones. Piano is my main axe and I would be able to give advanced instruction on this instrument. I can also teach voice, trumpet, guitar, bass guitar, and drums up to an intermediate level. Welcome! I have over 23 years of violin playing. I’ve been playing professionally for the last 16 years in a variety of groups and orchestras in different places in the world, including Brazil, Portugal, Italy and the United States. Alongside my performance career I’ve also enjoyed teaching this beautiful art of playing the violin. I truly believe music is a powerful tool to connect to other people and even change their lives! My teaching philosophy is to help my students to achieve what they envision in the future for themselves, whether it is a professional music career or just a passionate hobby.
