About
BIO: Carrie Paulo comes to teaching yoga in Cedar Creek in the midst of a teaching career spanning over twenty years. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre - Performance Studies and a Master of Arts in Education.
She has taught theatre, English, film and been a special education assistant and teacher/counselor at a group home for children with developmental delays. She has directed award-winning plays and praise-worthy musicals and presented drama therapy and movie making at camps throughout the mid-south in and around Memphis, TN. Her family relocated to the Austin area to cultivate relationships with nearby family in July of 2017.
Carrie immediately learned of a yoga teacher training program geared to educators and leaped at the opportunity to train for a way to serve others and help spread the message of non-violence and self-compassion and wellness. It is what she has taught in English, theatre and film classes all along - how to explore the you that you really are through creativity in art, music, film, television, literature, theatre - anything that brings one joy. In finding joy, one also finds healing.
Now, these lessons are most prevalent in her yoga practice. She feels yoga reaches a place of healing that nothing else has, but that compliments almost any other creative, therapeutic or spiritual practice one might cultivate. Yoga is a personal journey that can be made even richer by sharing with members of a community. Bamboo Hideaway is a great place to give yoga a try and learn more about what a yoga and meditation practice might bring into your life.
YOGA Classes are just $10 for drop-ins and even more affordable by multi-class options so it's always a great time to treat yourself to a judgment-free, healing-centered yoga experience.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It is important to have a discussion about needs and general body functioning before any exercise regiment. We'll work together to determine what YOUR body needs. All bodies and minds benefit from movement so we'll just find the magic amount tailored to you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters degree in education, a BFA in theatre and am a registered yoga instructor. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I also have a principal license and look to impact more students through that work.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
YOGA: Group classes are $10 drop-in. I offer monthly unlimited rates and I also offer private instruction for $45/hour if you come to me. It's difficult for me to travel much with my full-time public education gig, but bring it up and we'll see if it can work with our schedules.
Email coaching
(3 emails for $30 or 5 for $45)
Got a crazy busy schedule? Email coaching may be right for you. You send, read, and reply to messages at your convenience. I will deliver individualized, well thought out responses, complete with resources for you to follow-up further, if appropriate. I will typically reply within 24 hours.
One-on-One online video coaching(one one-hour chat for $45)
Let’s meet face-to-face in a Google Hangout or via Skype to talk. We can begin to sort things out and come up with suggested action items. You can take it from there and check back in if you want to or we can schedule another meeting to give you ongoing support, chart your progress, and figure out what’s next.
Rescue session
(two-hour online video chat for $75)
Upgrade to a one-time, two-hour, “let’s get down to business” brainstorming session via online face-to-face chat. In this communication, you have a specific situation you want to address and get concrete action steps to move forward. You’ve got a problem. I can help.
How did you get started teaching?
When I quit drinking, that was proof that I was serious about making my life the best it could be. We moved to Texas from Tennessee and yoga teacher training revealed itself to me within a month.
I have been dabbling in essential oils for years so the CBD oil is a natural addition.
We can heal so much on our own and in community with one another.
What types of students have you worked with?
You name it, I have taught them! Seriously...I have group home teaching experience for mentally-retarded teenage girls, recreation therapy for patients with Alzheimer's, children with ADHD, survivors of sexual trauma and everything in between with classes of 25-30 5 or 6 times a day for 20 years.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Go with your gut. You know what you need. Go get it!
