About

I'm Karl Logue, NCTM (Nationally Certified Teacher of Music) and a member of the American College of Musicians, a private lesson music teacher, coach and a professional pianist and organist in Cedar Park, TX. You may have seen me at Esther's Follies where I am music director. I offer lessons in person or online.

I teach piano, organ, theory, composition, and vocal coaching. With over 40 years of experience, I've learned to work with students of all ages and skill levels. Whether it’s picking up piano lessons where you left off, getting your children started on a lifetime skill, or starting anew with a brand new hobby, I am dedicated to making you and your children’s engagement with piano fun!

The studio is in Cedar Park, right on the edge of Cedar Park and Austin near Lakeline Mall, and convenient to Cedar Park neighborhoods such as Buttercup Creek, Oakwood Glen, Shenandoah, Anderson Mill West, as well as being near Anderson Mill, and not too far from Steiner or Avery Ranch.

I am a prolific composer and orchestrator. My original compositions, vocal and piano arrangements are published at SheetMusicPlus, and my works have been performed internationally. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree, and have studied at the University of Texas, Texas A&M, and a Master's degree from St. Edward's University. I also use my composition skills to write songs especially for my students.

I am also a very active performer and conductor, having performed publicly at over 500 performances. I am also the principal accompanist for the Capital City Men's Chorus, as well as Composer-in-Residence. I have performed at and had my compositions premiered at multiple international festivals. The first lesson is free so we can get to know one another. It's always good to see if your learning style and my teaching style are compatible before committing to longer-term lessons.

ABOUT THE STUDIO

As you'll see from the pics on my page, I teach on two concert-quality Mason & Hamlin grand pianos, considered by most to be the finest piano built (yes, better than Steinway). It's important to me that my students have an opportunity to work with truly fine instruments so they can hone their skills to the highest level.

My pricing is as follows (piano, vocal, organ, composition): 45 Minute Lessons Weekly = $210.00/month

60 Minute Lessons Weekly-$260.00/month

60 Minute Single Lesson-$70.00 (these rates apply even in months with 5 lessons)

My favorite part of teaching piano is that point in a student's study when they start to feel confident in themselves. I encourage all of my students to become self-critical so that when we get together for lessons, it's not about the teacher telling the student what wrong notes were played, but rather a collaboration of how to learn, practice and enjoy playing.

Karl is an outstanding piano instructor. His expertise goes far beyond just teaching you how to play notes in a piece. He teaches you the intricacies of the piece, focusing on tone, interpretation, and precision that allows you to tell the story within the music. He is an outstanding musician and educator. I highly recommend.

Mr. Logue is an excellent music teacher. Ive studied music with Mr. Logue for years now, both as a piano student and as a member of his choir at Unity Church of the Hills.
Mr. Logue is extremely well-versed in his craft. He takes great pride in the proper maintenance and tuning of his two antique Mason & Hamlin grand pianos. He allows his students the opportunity to practice on these two glorious instruments, which I can say from personal experience is a joy in and of itself.
Mr. Logue not only teaches his piano students proper finger application to the keys, but he also teaches us the music theory behind such applications so that we can better understand chord structure and chord progressions.
For adult learners such as myself, Mr. Logue has a keen eye for spotting mistakes that we self-learners tend to develop over time. This is something that I especially appreciate in my lessons with him. Only by recognizing those mistakes can they then be unlearned.
In addition, Mr. Logue begins his sessions with students by focusing on their goals as music students. If a student wants to focus on classical music of a certain era, for example, that becomes the focus. If a student wants to focus on Broadway tunes, for example, that becomes the focus. Mr. Logue caters his music lessons to the students goals.
If you are looking for music lessons, I highly recommend Mr. Logues Center for Musical Excellence. Your money is well spent here. You will progress very well with Mr. Logue toward your goals as a music student.

I sent my daughter to study with Karl Logue. He is a very good teacher. He listens to his students concerns and addresses them with a firm but gentle hand. You will not regret having your child study piano with Mr. Karl!

I took piano lessons from Karl Logue, yes, but also lessons in everything musical. Karl has been my accompanist, vocal coach, editor, arranger, and producer for projects ranging from cabaret solos to staged musicals, and published sheet music to karaoke videos. He is among the most accomplished musicians in Austin. Even so, his musical talent comes second to his pedagogical gifts of patience, kindness, and strength of character.
