About

I'm a third generation musician. I've been playing music since i was 8 years old playing drums. When i was about 15 years old i picked up a bass and haven't put it down since. I'm very lucky to have been born with "IT" the raw talent or was passed on through my father and grandfathers who were all professional musicians also. I also worked hard and put in 100's of hours of sitting in my room and just practiced scales, arpeggios, modes, fundamentals, positions on the fret board, paying attention to different musicians, listening to all types of music, even music i wasn't a fan of. I'm a very easy going and patient person and just love teaching music and everything that goes with it. I don't just teach how to play i teach how to play with passion, heart, technique and how to make music a part of your life.

There's no other feeling in the world than playing music with other musicians that make people wow over. It's unexplainable. In 2001 i met Jane Weidlin from the GoGo's and she asked me to play a couple of gigs with her she had in San Diego. At that gig i met Simon Kirk(drummer for bad company) and Bruce Kulick (lead guitar player for Kiss, post make-up years, and now plays with Grand Funk Railroad) and Simon and Bruce hired me to play dozens of private solo gigs with them throughout the west coast. On one of those gigs Bruce had Paul Stanley as his guest singer at House of Blues in Hollywood California and that's the pic you see of me on my profile pic singing with Paul Stanley. The best validation a musician can get or ask for. Throughout my playing career ive played every type of genre there is. Rock, soul, funk, r&b, alternative, new wave, progressive, jazz, latin, tejano, mariache, folk, pop, disco, etc.... my passion is playing anything with heart and passion. Hope to hear from you and give me the chance and pleasure to pass on my knowledge and passion for bass and music to you to have for the rest of your life. Thank you.

Ive played for 40 years. Ive taken lessons on and off my entire life. In one lesson Alfie identified and fixed a timing issue I have never been able to master. He is a genius!

    Frequently asked questions

I feel it's important to talk/teach my students/customer the importants of playing with heart, feeling, passion besides just teaching how to play a note or a scale. Playing with heart and passion is the most important thing a person/musician has to offer is their heart because that's real.
