He studied with her throughout his childhood years and began playing the trumpet from junior high through high school. In his sophomore year, he began taking guitar, voice, songwriting, and audio engineering lessons from Rob Hamon at a major music store chain in Texas. After a couple of years, Rob mentored him on the methods of teaching guitar and audio engineering lessons professionally and soon offered him his own teaching position.
