Mr. Dang was the piano teacher for both my kids and they learnt piano from him for at least 10 years each and they loved it. Although school and other activities did not permit them to continue but Mr. Dang's teaching has had a long lasting effect on them. They still play and it is surprising to see how quickly they learn new musical-pieces/songs. That is where Mr. Dang's teaching comes in - absolutely a brilliant teacher, always encouraging and excellent with kids of all age. Mr. Dang has immense patience, a good listener and a splendid person to talk to. The kids used to look forward to the piano class. Mr. Dang himself is a very accomplished pianist and he has the very talented art of imparting his knowledge to his students. My brief stays during their classes with Mr. Dang encouraged me to become a student of him for a brief period of time, but with no fault of his, I had to quit (fat fingers). The point is Mr. Dang encourages people to learn at their own comfortable pace, there is no pressure and he always finds ways to bring about a positive feeling no matter the student's learning ability. Without any hesitation I will recommend Mr. Dang and if the kids or even I, ever go back to piano it would be to none other than our favorite pianist - Mr. Dang. Mr. Dang thanks for your time, patience, excellent guidance. and also continuous enthusiasm. Angela is amazing, she teaches by speaking Spanish directly so you are getting the practice as well as the material. I have been seeing her 3x a week for couple months now and am able to have basic conversations in Spanish. Very thankful for her!

I’ve learned so much with Dr. Tolosa. He doesn’t simply observe, correcting wrong notes and pointing out things written on the page the way many other teachers do. The suggestions he makes always have broader implications; he often explains how a particular articulation, or the way a certain passage should be played, can be applied to other pieces in general. It’s true education, not just tutoring. However, note my use of the word ‘suggestions’: naturally, being a professional musician, Dr. Tolosa is an expert on musical interpretation, but at times he makes it clear that we’re trying out different things to see what sounds best, and he’s always open to input and questions. I’m getting ready to audition for a few music schools, and while I battle my own mental blocks, I could not imagine a better professor.

Matt Westmoreland was my piano instructor from my sophomore year through senior year of high school. I was hoping to pursue music in college, and Matt helped me achieve that dream. He really created the ideal learning environment, offering helpful, constructive instruction while still encouraging and fostering my own creativity. I would come to him with these very ambitious projects I wanted to work on, and never once did he discourage me from setting high goals for myself. He always had full faith in me, and that's what made being his student such a rewarding experience. I improved in musicality, sight-reading, composition, and overall technical skill while studying under his instruction. I really do give Matt credit for me being as prepared as I was to begin my music career as a college student!
