Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I evaluate my students and place them into beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons, offering classes in Acting for Theatre/ Film/ Television/ Commercial/ Radio Voice/ Voiceover.
I have students practice commercial copy, improvisational exercises, voiceover and “cold reading” technique.
I also coach student’s for theatrical plays, musicals and film auditions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I starred as “Alice” in ALICE IN WONDERLAND, and performed in my first ballet recital at the age of six in New York. I attended Middle Country Performing Arts High School in the am and Newfield High School in the pm graduating with NYS Regents Honors. Fresh out of High School, I started a radio internship at WRCN FM and quickly was hired to train as a radio announcer and on air actor in the radio theater program at WRHD AM, the sister station in Riverhead, Long Island. Simultaneously, I was cast and performed as Lady MacBeth in William Shakespeare’s MacBeth and traveled to Manhattan twice a week for my internship at CNN “Show Biz Today.”
My family soon moved to Texas and I found myself performing at Rice University, the University of Houston, North Harris College (now Lonestar College) and Stages Repertory Theatre among others in Houston, Texas.
My training stems from the Constantine Slanislavski Method, the Russian master influenced many leading teachers including Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler and Lee Strasberg. I studied in Moscow at the Nikitsky Gates Theatre, St. Petersburg, Sofia, Bulgaria, Plovdiv and Sozopol, earning credits at Trinity College in Connecticut.
Upon return to Houston I originated the role of “Fortuna” at Houston Grand Opera and wrote a play, Valley of the Roses, which was produced in Houston, New Orleans and New York.
I continued my training at two distinguished conservatories in NYC; “The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre” where Sanford Meisner and Martha Graham taught and tranfered my Meisner training from stage to film and graduated from “The School for Film & Television,” the School Joan See founded which is now known as “The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.”
