About
I love the French language and culture and have taught French for a few years in Katy I.S.D. and as a tutor. With a master's degree in French and experience studying French in France and Quebec, I have a strong background. I am certified to teach French in grades 6 to 12 in Texas. I have also hosted a foreign exchange student, been a judge at a French festival, and currently work as a tutor for Huntington Learning Center. Let me work with you to improve your facility with the French language and prepare you to travel to France!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I talk to the student in French and English to gauge their level of proficiency, have them read a passage outloud, then help them with their assignment if they are taking French in school or work on one to help them develop their vocabulary, reading and writing skills. This is done at an incremental pace and rework is done when needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in French from the University of Houston and bachelor's degree in French and International Studies from the University of St. Thomas. I am certified to teach French and History by the state of Texas at the secondary level. TEA ID: 230674. I have taught students of all ages and tutored them in reading and writing English and French. I have also worked as a substitute teacher for KIPP Public Schools.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $20 for introductory lesson then it is $40 per session up to one hour.
How did you get started teaching?
My mother taught history and encouraged me to follow in her footsteps. I enjoy explaining concepts, helping students learn and do their best, and being a good role model for young people.
What types of students have you worked with?
At Huntington Learning Center I worked with students from age 6 to 17. At KIPP I taught students from grades 2 to 12. I have also taught adults English as a Second Language at the UH Clear Lake Campus.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
When I taught French in Katy ISD, my students participated in the foreign language fair and won many awards.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Talk to the teacher to see what their experience and credentials are, then give them an opportunity to provide an intro lesson so you can see if they are a good fit.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my goals? How long have I studied French? How much time do I devote to studying?
