Ground Dwellers Jiu Jitsu Academy
About
I teach people how to preserve life! I own and opperate a jiu jitsu academy. Many see it as a sport and not a martial art. I see and teach both! I began training Jiu Jitus back in 1999. It wasnt until 2009 that I decided to open and opperate my own academy. We recently moved to 8921 Louetta Rd in Spring TX. Prior to Jiu Jitsu, I was learning Kung Fu and during 2005, I decided to fight in the cage as a Professional Fighter. I fought 4 times and had a record of 3 wins and one loss. I have competed in many tournments and have won many awards. At grounddwellers JJA, there is no contracts or sign up fees. We are open year round. No holliday breaks! The first day of training is always free.
I enjoy meeting new people. It excites me to be in a postion to help people meet thier goals. Many come to Get fit, lose weight, build more confidence, have fun, learn some self defense. We have a great retention rate due to the atmosphere that has been developed by our current students.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As a new individual, it can be intimidating to walk in to a martial arts academy. We definetly want to keep in mind that False Expectations Appearing Real (fear) is in the back of thier mind. We speak to new clients as soon as they walk in the door. A firm handshake and an exchange of names is always importan. A quick explanation of what is to take place and assurance that we will do our best to keep them safe and show them a good time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been training martial arts since 1992. I opened Ground Dwellers in 2009. I am a third degree black belt under Carlos Machado and am also recognezed as such with the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
