About

I am a tutor that guides the student to be the best learner possible. I look at each student's learning styles, help with study skills, provide fun activities while the student is learning the particular subject they need help in.

My passion is helping others learn the best way they can. I work with students on understanding their own unique learning styles, figuring out specific study skills that work best for the student and achieving success with that particular subject area the student need extra help in.

I am a Texas certified teacher in all major subjects (reading, math, science, social studies) for ages preschool to 6th grade. I have been in education for 14 years. I have taught children from preschool age, elementary and middle school in Minnesota, Massachusetts and Texas. I have worked with students with autism, ADHD, non-verbal students, and students with emotional disabilities.

    Frequently asked questions

The first few sessions will be getting to know the student through different assessments. There will be an academic assessment, learning style assessment and a preferred fun activity for the student. I will also provide the parent/guardian with a "Getting to Know Your Child" form.

I am a Texas certified teacher in all major subjects (reading, math, science, social studies) for ages preschool to 6th grade and have been teaching children for 14 years.

The tutoring is free for all sessions.

I started teaching preschool age children in my early 20s and immediately had an understanding about how to help students through the learning process and emotionally support them if they needed it. As I continued to teach I found that I gravitate towards children with learning/emotional disabilities. I have had an intusion about what they needed to succeed. So I took that intusion and love for helping children to work my way up to becoming a certified teacher. I now want to take my knowledge I have learned being a teacher in public school and expand my ideas to help children through a new way of tutoring.

I have worked with a wide range of students including those with disabilities.

I was teaching a student with emotional and academic disabilites how to identify their letter names and sounds. The student struggled to remember a large amount of letter name and sounds until one day I thought maybe they could remember the letters by closing their eyes, holding the letter in their hand and tracing the letter. Then I asked the student what letter do you have in your hand? The student remembered the letter name and went on to remember the letter sound. The student was so excited. They couldn't believe they finally knew the letters and had fun playing the game. From that point forward the student improved their letter recognition.
