About
Since I learned to sew when I was 9 from my home-ec teacher mother, I've been at a machine--making clothes for myself or others. I've also costumed theater and opera for many years. I'm a retired English teacher who was known for my patience in helping students improve their writing. I have that same patience when I mentor other costumers or teach someone to sew. Whether you want to make your own clothes or just take up a hem, I can show you how!
I'm a natural-born teacher, and I enjoy sharing my love of creating fun, wearable clothing that fits right and makes the wearer feel good.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As soon as I meet new students, I let them tell me their background in sewing. Then, no matter how much the student already knows (from "This is a sewing machine" to "This is how to do a cartridge pleat"), I can help them learn how to sew or how to improve their sewing. I meet them where they are and help them move forward to meet their individual goals.
