The first class is introductory to the sewing machineand is usually take one hour. It will be determined how much a student knows, if she a a complete beginner or knows basic techniques. Learning the basics of the machine, threads, needles should take up the first class.

I have over 25 years of sewing experience. Have taken various classes during this time. I have worked for three Bernina stores since 2001.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $50/hour.
How did you get started teaching?
After learning so much working for Bernina, I wanted to pass on this information to others.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught mainly career women who have busy jobs who are looking for a creative outlet with a practical side. They have been engineers, attorneys and a dentist or two.
My students have ranged from 17 years of age to over 60. Quite a few of the younger women have been interested in sewing because of the desire to create a clothing line and go into the design business.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Anytime I get to see a student’s face light up after she has made something that she has sewn is a great joy!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If she does not own a sewing machine, to wait until she has decided on the features and type of machine she will need to best perform her desired projects.
