Hello my name is Tapanga Moten (VolleyballwithCoachT) on all platforms . I'm a former 2x champion collegegiate volleyball player.

I offer 1 on 1 teaching to my students. I work on basic breakdown from offense/ defense as a hitter as well as a defensive passer (DS). As for hitters (outside , middle and right side) we work on approach footwork to and off net as well as blocking footwork.

My passion for volleyball helps myself enjoy teaching my students. Their development from the hard work and dedication we put in the gym drives me to continue with my passion for my trainings. Watching my anthly and their development and gaining confidence and knowledge for the game is my ultimate goal. I also enjoy teaching volleyball to individuals who has never been taught skills or may lack certain skills as well as the players who need more quality skill touches.

Everyone always have room to grow and become a better athletes all around. All my athletes will take away something new from our trainings and better their game after a session with CoachT (:

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

1st session - skills check ( I will examine what skills my athlete needs to develop or build off) For example : Hitters : - I’ll check for the following : Footwork Lateral movements Reaction And more … As a hitter we will work on developing / advancing their volleyball IQ as well as skills they can implement in the game. One we gain perspective on what’s needed in the first session together we will build a profile for the athletes progress.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have played for Shaw university where I played my first 3 years of volleyball. I have earned 2 championship titles while earning Rookie of the year , 3x all conference Middle Hitter I’ve played 4 year’s as a starting middle for Shaw University & Kentucky State University

I am currently the 16s assistant coach at New Age Volleyball located in Houston ,Tx I also coach New Age developmental teams ages (7-12).

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Price system :

Court Rentals fee : 35-60/ hr (depending on day of week)

Training& Travel fee : $100/ hr

Group sessions:

Training fee is $65/hr ea. player pay their training fee

*court fee can be split amongst players for group trainings*

How did you get started teaching?

My college coach at Kentucky state university transferred to another college where she brought me out to train her college hitters. This is where I began to understand why and what was her reasoning behind showing myself what I was destined to do . Now I’m going on 6+ years of training young girls to get where my hard work and dedication got me.
