Mackey Health & Fitness, LLC
About
I love to help people take the guesswork and uncertainty out of health and fitness. Through my business, I train people not only on effective movement and exercises but also on how to program an effective workout plan for yourself. Stop relying on the dot com cookie-cutter workout programs or computer-generated app workouts and get started with a customized program. I help people by building their workout routine for them or teaching them how the pros do it so you never have to hire a trainer again!
I am a veteran fitness professional with 10 years of experience as a Personal Trainer, Health Coach, and Nutrition Coach. I have experience training in-person at gyms, homes, apartments, and offices; along with experience coaching online through asynchronous conversation and live through video calling.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We meet and gain a solid understanding of where they are currently. Everything about your health and fitness should be customized. In order to do that, you need a starting point and a clear and purposeful direction. Once those are identified then you can create the step-by-step process to accomplish your goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science
- ACE Certified Health Coach
- Precision Nutrition Level 1 Nutrition Coach
- Certified Corporate Fitness Specialist
- 10 years of experience as Personal Trainer and Health Coach
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when I started coaching: in 2012. The process of teachign came with the profession of working directly with people on their health and fitness goals. A large portion of what I do is instruction. The other is motivation and accountability.
What types of students have you worked with?
Although I have experience working with many people from all walks of life from ages 6-90, I have a few categories I tend to work with more. Those would be remote employees who may not have full access to a gym, young dad's wanting to build muscle, adults trying to lose weight, and retired persons who travel.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
- Talk to them.
- They don't have to have gone through it themselves to be a great teacher. They do need real-world experience though.
- Learn about why they do what they do.
- Oftentimes, you get what you pay for. In such a personal business as health and fitness, don't just search for the cheapest option. Search for the option that will work.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
- Why do I want to accomplish this goal?
- How can I be a good student to make the most out of this experience?
- Am I ready, willing, and able to commit to this? (ALL 3 must be "yes")
