Coach Winters here or you can call me Coach Ed or Coach Dub!!! I'm a former High School football coach of 13 years, 2 JV, 11 Var. Moved to Texas in Feb.2020 and wasn't able to get on a staff pre or post pandemic. I have 3 children that need their dad home so coaching had to take a backseat till they are all older. I have served as a OLine, DLine, LB, WR, RB, DC and asstDC coach. I'm from Northern Cali., coached several D1, 2, 3, NAIA and JUCO athletes, 2 that have gone pro. I have my AA in Advanced Personal Training and Exercise Science. My training style is different but my kids see the results.

I love my craft, the grind, the kids, the outcome. I don't succeed if the kids don't succeed. I care about my athletes and consider them as mine so this would be the only time you would see me not call them "my kids." I really enjoy hearing and seeing my kids perform at the level they want.

Coach Ed is dedicated to his craft and his athletes. He works very well with athletes of all ages. He’s very understanding in the ever changing schedules he comes into contact with. He’s greatly improved my son’s play and confidence all around. His drills and sessions are always tailored to my son’s specific needs for his position.
He motivated my son to want to do better. My son felt like somebody that didn’t have to invest in him was choosing to invest in him and saw potential in him this does wonders for self confidence.
Having a one on one coach creates a different experience for the player versus only relying on school coaches to invest in development .

    Frequently asked questions

I want to let them know who I am and what I am about.  A bio can tell you some of the story but face to face brings a better comfort to a person.  I want to talk with the parent 1st the athlete 2nd, then together.  I feel both will have their own opinion of what each wants, that way we all get on the same page.  I encourage parents to come to at least the 1st session to make sure this is what they want.  Then we set goals, work on schedules and go from there.

I have my AA in Advanced Personal Training and Exercise Science.  I have coached football players for over 15 years, in all phases of the season.  Coached High School football for 13, 2 JV, 11 Var.  Coached all positions except for QB, P and K

I don't since this is my 1st time training outside of the schools I've coached for.  But since I do have to charge I start at $20 a session

It kinda came with the job when I started coaching and some of the kids wanted extra work with me in the off-season, during the season.  Whether it was in the weight room or the field

I have worked with all kinds of athletes, D1-JUCO or not even playing after the final game of the season.  I've had plenty of kids that played for themselves, for the team, kids with problems at home, stubburn, kids that are willing to do whatever you say even the kids that do too much and don't know when to take a break and be a kid.

I have a pretty good memory especially of my coaching career and my kids.  Probably one of my proudest moments was seeing one of my kids that graduated, he was in college, working and playing football for a JUCO.  I saw him in a store and he sees me runs up to me and gives me the biggest hugs, says "coach I love you and all you've done for me!!!  I am where I am because  you pushed me to be more, do more.  I may not have gotten that D1, 2 or 3 offer but I'm working to get where I want to be.....I appreciate you!!!"  Now I'm with my wife who for years didn't understand why I caoched, put so much time and effort into someone elses kids but she just found out.  It was at that moment she knew and she said, "now I know why you do it, keep doing it!!!"

Make sure he or she is what you want.  You can tell if this trainer/coach is for you and not for the money.  If he is willing to do whatever it takes for you the athlete to succeed, then you're right on track.  Caring about what they do, how they do it must be evident.  To me its not always about the outside, but the inside and being able to bring that out for performance.

    What are your needs?

Am I ready to "get to work" or do I have too many obstacles in front of me?  i.e. mentally ready

Can I listen to someone's elses advice, am I coachable?
