Will M. says, "Kyle worked with our oldest son (10yo) doing strength, conditioning, and agility with a focus on baseball and pitching. Kyle was always professional, great communication, and worked great with our oldest son. Our son definitely gained strength, and speed, and most importantly a better understanding of his body, while working with Kyle. All done in a very safe and healthy approach for a kid that was 10. Miss working with kyle when he moved. " Read more

Timothy H. says, "I am writing to highly recommend Coach T as an exceptional baseball trainer for youth. Over the past season, my 11-year-old son has had the privilege of training under Coach T, and the progress he has made is nothing short of remarkable. At the beginning of the season, my son was a novice player with a lot of enthusiasm but limited experience and skills. Under Coach T's expert guidance, he has shown significant growth in all aspects of the game. His batting average has improved tremendously, thanks to the tailored coaching techniques and the consistent encouragement provided by Coach T. Furthermore, my son's understanding of the overall baseball game has expanded greatly. Coach T's comprehensive training covered everything from infield and outfield positions to base running strategies, ensuring that my son developed a well-rounded skill set. This holistic approach not only improved his individual performance but also boosted his confidence, leading to considerable success on the baseball field. Coach T's dedication to his players is evident in the way he tailors his coaching to meet each player's needs, whether they are novices or advanced players. His ability to connect with the kids, along with his extensive knowledge of the game, creates an environment where young athletes can thrive. I would highly recommend Coach T to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, passionate, and effective baseball trainer for their child. His impact on my son's development and love for the game has been profound, and I am confident that he will bring the same level of excellence to any player he coaches." Read more

Hi I’m Preston Baumgartner, and Im not only looking to teach kids how to play the game of baseball but also teaching them how to be a better version of themselves. I want to use my knowledge of the game to give back to kids and parents in hopes that their kid will succeed on and off the field. Im a former student-athlete and graduate from Oral Roberts University with a degree in Sports Management. I have coaching and playing experience in baseball, and I want to utilize my skills as much as possible. I believe I have what it takes to make your kid better at the sport and even better outside of the sport. Thanks.

Hi, Coach Mark here, I’ve been in or around the game of baseball for over 35 years and softball for 8 because of my daughters. And what I’ve learned is the mental aspect, is the highest part of development in young players. I’ve worked with kids as young as 7, all the way up professional players. Working on feeling and memory. I’ve been a select softball coach for the past 4 years and it’s bern somewhat of a calling. The “what” and the “how” is taught everywhere, but here, we explain the “WHY”.

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

I enjoyed everything about Flashing Leather Baseball. Coach is amazing! He has more than enough patience with my son. Coach’s love for baseball is a reflection on how he teaches. The fundamental skills and drills the boys will receive from coach will advance them further with every lesson/training that they receive. Coach corrects when needed. Praises when needed. He makes the overall training experience fun for the boys. Even though they are working hard, coach doesn’t make it seem that way. Coach really enjoys being able to coach the boys and the boys really enjoy learning. Positive learning/attitude vibes only!
