Hello my name is Diego Sandoval. I have 15+ year of experience playing baseball and about 6 years training. I attended Del Valle High School where I was a 4 year starter and later played D2 baseball at Eastern New Mexico University and JUCO baseball at University of Arkansas Rich Mountain. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge throughout the year that I would love to teach.

Aj K. says, "I worked with Jake for about a year with hitting. Great guy, Players coach, and very professional. Jake helped me dramatically with my loading technique, to keep my shoulders from flying open from baseballs, swing technique, and overall consistency at the plate. His drills, techniques, and knowledge of baseball helped me so much. I hit so many more line drives and improved batting heavily. Definitely a top Batting coach in the Orange County area. Would recommend to anybody looking for a batting coach." Read more

Very down to earth and keep things pretty simple. I want to make sure we are teaching in a way that will develop a love for it. I like to consider myself young at heart and want to see a dream come to life through teaching. When kids take the pride in what they are learning and incorporate that on to the field and into life. This isn't about me. Its about shaping yound men and women.

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Multiple times I have seen Coach Bobby work with elementary aged kids one hour then immediately start training a professional in the next hour. He is a very impressive coach with a large array of knowledge. He has a gift in being able to transfer that knowledge to athletes of all ages and abilities. My wife and I highly recommend Coach Bobby to anyone looking to improve their game.

Carson does a great job especially with kids. He is very focused on body mechanics and proper form. He has a very nice way with them and my grandson has substantially improved. He was up at the last inning, bottom of the inning with the 3 to 2 count and hit a home run to tie the score ! The team advanced to the finals. His form was clearly better and all the parents noted it

Jake is relevant , fun, motivating, consistent, and relatable with the kids. He was able to coach my boys in a simple and straight-forward way. Jake has a way with meeting players where they are and elevating their play. We couldn't be more grateful for the work he did with our boys.
