Nathan M. says, "Eric Fergusson has helped me develop my swing a tremendous ammount in a fairly short time. He does this using a variety of techniques. A big part of that is his passion for the game of baseball and helping me get better. He doesnt satisfy with just lessons. Throughout the week he sends me drills to help me improve on the motion or action we are trying to fix that week and then a video of a proffesional hitter swinging and how he swings so I can see what it looks like. He also willingly responds to texts if I have any questions or comments on how im feeling as I swing. Eric Ferguson has helped me tremendously and I would highly reccomend him to any player dedicated to improve their swing." Read more

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Reviews for Round Rock baseball lessons

Recent success stories from people in the Round Rock area.
Matt P.
Carson does a great job especially with kids. He is very focused on body mechanics and proper form. He has a very nice way with them and my grandson has substantially improved. He was up at the last inning, bottom of the inning with the 3 to 2 count and hit a home run to tie the score ! The team advanced to the finals. His form was clearly better and all the parents noted it
