I am a former Close Combat Instructor from the United States Marine Corps and have trained over 296 combat ready Marines in ground fighting, arm bars, leg bars, choke holds, and my forte---boxing. I have developed a civilian oriented training course over the years that is more than just throwing punches. Confidence building, cardio, core training, empowerment, balance, focus, purging of stress and worry and beyond that--self determination and drive. I challenge my students to enable and empower the bad ass from within each and every one of us to shine into something good and strong.
I offer lessons out of Nexxt Fit Gym and I provide a safe, clean, professional environment to free yourself for just a moment from the daily struggles and on-the-goes of life.
If you would like to know more, please send me message and lets talk. I can accommodate up to 4 students for any given lesson and am flexible time.
Hand wraps and hand protection is mandatory and mouth piece is optional.
They can be purchased at Academy or Wal MArt for about 15$
Don't be shy---let me hear from you if you are interested and lets get you ripped and motivated

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The initial assessment is the hardest part for a lot of people to get truly committed to physical fitness. I work hard to make my students feel at ease wherever they are at mentally, physically and skill level. None of that can be acquired, but rather just throwing on the gloves and throwing some punches. Whether you are injured, over-weight, under-weight or just looking for an aggressive method of getting in shape, always know that I am there to support you. And finally, and most importantly, I work with you--my students--to enjoy the experience and have fun. If none of that is happening, and you are miserable with the experience--then I will gladly refund you your money.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My line of work is in service of others. Whether its in social work, church or at the gym, I wake everyday to try to make someone smile and feel good about themselves--maybe that can be you!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
"Community boxing lessons" means that I have up to 5 students that I train during my sessions and I come in and give you very specific personal attention--whether is pad you, bag support, cardio training, core, endurance, punch technique and it all is given with positive reinforcement. I'm there to lift you up--and I want it to be affordable for my clients.
If you--the client--are looking for something more one on one, that can be done as well, however I prefer to negotiate these fees in person so that both parties can agree on a reasonable price.
How did you get started teaching?
I started my own close combat training in the United States Marine Corps back in 1998. This included boxing, grappling, ground fighting, choke holds, arm bars, leg locks, take downs and full hand to hand combat. I was sent to Close Combat Instructor School and graduated said course in 1999. In the civilian world, I have tweaked that training regiment to make it civilian friendly and more so--non competitive--meaning that the training I give is for personal growth and development. I do not enter tournaments or promote sparring.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The click is most important--just like buying a car or other major purchases. There's an internal click that you just know in your heart and mind--"yea--this can work." If you are not comfortable where you train---then you will not enjoy it--if you do not enjoy it then you will be forcing yourself to go on will power alone---if you're forcing yourself to do something you do not like, then its a matter of time before you quit.
