About
NOTE - My rate is $60/session including $5 to PSB for lane rental..
My instruction is a complete package including video analysis, geared for bowlers who wish to bowl regularly, incorporate proper techniques into their style, and improve their game.
I started instructing in the early to mid-90's taking the Level I certification from the USBC and following with Level II, Bronze and Silver certifications.
I consider all aspects of the student's game including equipment, technique, approach mechanics, timing, lane-play, targeting, spare shooting and mental game. The video analysis gives instant visual of what the bowler perceives is occurring during the shot. Finally, I offer e-mail follow-up for questions and progress.
My enjoyment and satisfaction is derived from the student feedback as to improvement and progress in their game. I also really enjoy addressing questions from the bowler on all aspects of the bowling game.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I want to address goals and objectives. What do we want to accomplish in the session. Are there any specific facets of the game on which we should focus. Then after warm-up, I video a few shots from various angles to be able to see a before and after view. Finally, I review the written critique and after video.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have completed multiple USBC certification courses and attended local coaching classes from Susie Minshew and Carol Norman on Storm's staff.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I base my fee per session, consistent with the market rate.
How did you get started teaching?
I started instructing because I reasoned by learning to teach other bowlers, maybe I could apply this knowledge to my own game. As it turns out, this is true, however, I am finding as much satisfaction and pleasure in assisting others as performing well myself.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have instructed bowlers new to the game as well as the more experienced league and tournament bowlers. On occasion, I have been asked to coach individuals with special needs and also those in ages 5-10.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The Super Moon! It resembled a big, white and gray bowling ball in outer space.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
An instructor with USBC certification credentials is a good bet similar to the requirements in public education. And the use of video is highly instructional. Seeing is believing.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is your level of desire to improve? How often are you willing to practice? Are you open to change? How well do you accept constructive criticism? Do you have your own ball and shoes?
