Affekt Training is a unique private training space located in Salt Lake City. It is a diverse yet comprehensive blend of training modalities that in turn provides true holistic development. Affekt is a space dedicated to training and thought, effort and attention.

The clientele we work with is diverse, ranging from those recovering from injuries, to those looking to begin their fitness journey or those who have been on the path but are seeking better coaching and more comprehensive programming and progression, we also consult with professional athletes from time to time.

We offer one-on-one and small group training, we also offer a complete remote training service unlike any other out there (Affekt Lucida remote coaching). Pricing is on the website and is comparable to other spaces in the area, but people don't pay us for the cheapest service, the 6 week bootcamp or the knock-off program, they pay us for an endearing community, an open and honest gym that will push you to get better in every way possible. Affekt Training is for hard workers, open people and curious spirits.

    Private (one-on-one) training: $350 per month (no contract, cancel anytime) *Private training includes 2-5x per week of training sessions, guided remote work, nutritional counseling and free access to small group sessions, Friday meditation sessions, Saturday open gym. Number of sessions per week is dictated by schedule and need. **Private training slots are very limited and who I choose to work with is specific, people in need of private training may include: weight loss transformation, pain clients (rehabilitation), amateur and recreational athletes (we also consult with professional athletes). Small group (2-4 people max) training: $200 per month (no contract, cancel anytime) *small group training includes 2-4x per week of carefully curated group sessions aimed at particular training adaptations (strength, strength endurance, capacity). Groups usually include recurring members and range from 2-4 people per group. There really is no other group training like this: progressive, fun, interactive and intimate. We aim to teach all clientele the "secret sauce" of our success training clients over the past 5 + years therefore our group sessions are highly educational. **group classes have 6:30PM starting times Monday-Thursday, but we aim to accomodate you no matter your schedule. If you're interested in working out in a group format, contact us with your available time slots and we will work to build a class around that time slot.

    I got started by realizing that I wanted to play a part in the process of change for another person. I wanted to free people from what they think they can be, accomplish or who they are and teach them that there is more.

    I coach because I find it an immediate way to make a profound impact on how people live and navigate their life, being a small part of that process is what I love and care about.

    Nearly everyone. Throughout my career I've worked with people as old as 70+ and as young as 12. I've worked with entrepreneurs, high school and professional athletes, but my place is really helping the general population and the recreational athlete get more out of their training. I aim to teach all of my clients how they can perform, improve and thrive on their own.

    I love working with people that have a big picture in mind: sure they want to lose the weight, get stronger, lose fat, look better or increase performance, but they have their eyes set on 20-50 years in the future.

    In that case we train for longevity and vitality that you can take with you for the rest of your life!

    Every gym is different. We often call Affekt Training a "gathering space" more than a gym. Our aim is to create a community of curious, spirited people who want more out of training than what is often given. With that being said, Affekt Training is not for everyone. We offer a free week trial to anyone interested in exploring our space, feel free to ask any questions (801-755-1382 - Josh) in regards to our onboarding process, training, nutrition, dealing with injuries etc., we are willing to chat and help in any way that we can. Our training is diverse and explorative in nature. There really is nothing else like it. Choosing a gym is like choosing anything else of important (a therapist, a doctor etc.) you need to KNOW that this person can help you improve, and it is always more than just training.
    1. Where they can and want to see them 3 years from now. 2. If they are truly committed to change, with changes in routine, social life, psychology etc. 3. if their schedule and budget will allow a "comfortable" commitment of at least 6 months time and 3 sessions per week (with whoever you choose) in order to get the most out of it.
