About this pro

I offer in-home or in-studio sesssions to clients based on their personal needs. My service stands out as I provide a free consultation for clients on first visit to ensure we are on the same page in terms of your personal goals. I also provide hands-on-assists where necessary in your practice to support, correct, or deepen postures.

I love teaching yoga as I have benefited tremendously from practicing. I enjoy connecting with each student I guide through their personal yoga practice. I enjoy providing support to students in the physical, mental, and spiritual journey of yoga. I currently work at 2 different studios during the week and weekend, CorePower Yoga (where I recieved my 200hr Yoga Certification), and Illumin8 studios in DC. I also serve in residential spaces at FREE cost at 'The Bartlett' where you can reserve on MBO app, as well as 'Metropolitian at Acadia' - residents only. *IF you live at either one of these properties or ANY properties within 5 blocks walking distance of Whole Foods in Pentagon City, my private session is $40/hour.

Rachel is so passionate about her job. She seems to move in slow motion around the room, stopping at every person to make sure they feel seen and loved. Her classes are so thoughtful and planned. There is no part of her class that she doesn’t care about and it really shows. Her style is a unique blend of hip hop and amazon healer. She’s simply incredible.

Rachel is a life changing instructor. I left my class feeling empowered and like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders. Rachel provides classes that will leave you both informed and proud of your journey. As a beginner, I faced challenges in my class. However, Rachel made me feel at home, confident, and allowed me to trust my body. I will definitely be returning to more classes with Evolving Lives Body & Mind!

Rachel really tailors our sessions to my personal fitness goals. She uplifts and encourages me each step of the way. I like how I don’t feel judged in my practice and am able to see progress in my yoga journey. I would give her 100 stars if I could, you would be missing out to not book a lesson or 20 with Rachel through Evolving Lives, her personal business.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The firs visit is more of a consultation, gaining clarity for your personal needs. After that, we implement your needs to a tailored sequence that we will modify as your practice evolves.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a 200hr Power Vinyasa registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. I obtained my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in October of 2017. Although, I am not yet a Licensed Professional Counselor I am working towards becoming Trauma Yoga certified as well as obtaining my LPC to combine yoga + mental health wellnesss.

How did you get started teaching?

I got started teaching after searching for balance in my own life. After going through the 200hour training, I decided to enroll in an extensions program to support me in gaining skills to become a lead instructor.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students of all ages, backgrounds, and physical disabilities. I have provided chair yoga, standing sequences, etc. to cater to the needs of my students.
