Good Beginnings Studio

Hello and welcome to Good Beginnings Studio! Good Beginnings specializes in beginners under 12. Our program is specially designed to engage the young student using games and crafts. Whether you are looking to start on their musical journey, or looking for a new stop along yours, make sure it's a Good Beginning!

My lessons are uniquely customized for each student. It is important for the studentand I to get to know each other in order for me to design a lesson that best fits their personality, interests, and learning styles. While I received my training in Classical music, that is not the only style of music we will cover. All styles of music can be explored, whether you want to jam out to your favorite pop song, shimmy to jazz, or transport yourself to another world with a movie score. Whatever the student's interests may be, we will use that enthusiasm to build a solid foundation of skills.

Music has always been a part of my life. I started piano as a youngster growing up in Rockville, Md. After exploring other instruments and activities I decided that performing and teaching piano was the path for me. I received my B.A. in Music from St. Mary's College of Maryland where I studied with Brian Ganz, and internationally renowned pianist known for his ongoing project to Perform all of Frederic Chopin's piano works. I graduated with my M.M. in Piano Performance from George Mason University studying alongside Dr. Linda Apple Monson, recipent of the 2009 George Mason University Teaching Excellence award, the 2012 George mason University Distinguished Faculty Member of the Year award, and the prestigious Influential Women of Virginia award in 2014. I perform all over the DMV and recently performed in the 2019 Alba Music Festival in Alba, Italy.

Seeing my students be succesfull! There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student accomplish a goal and to share in that joy that they feel. I love celebrating my student's accomplishment and hard work which is why I hold two recitals during the year. My goal as a teacher is to build self-confidence, a life-long love of learning, and teach the value of hard work and perseverance.
