Hello, My name is Michael Geddes and I am a certified iPec life coach, musician, composer, producer, and owner of Studio Guitar in Richmond Virginia. As a professional musician I know the joy of living life and making a living doing what I love to do. As a life coach I help young adults find fulfillment and joy by achieving their artistic ambitions.
I usually meet with clients via Skype, phone, or in person once a week. The following are a few of the topics that many clients have a need or desire to work around.

Living the Artist Life:
Following the artist path brings joy and satisfaction on many different levels, however, there is little training to help artist/ musicians navigate this path. Young artists/musicians spend years developing talents and then what? How will they share the gift and keep the dream alive? This is where a good life coach comes in. I know the hurtles and the obstacles musicians have to overcome. I am here help them keep their talent and dreams alive.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First...it's important that we talk, meet via Skype and or cell, to see if we are a good fit. This is a complementary, short coaching session, a time I listen to the clients needs and what they expect to achieve by hiring a life coach. I will explain some things about life coaching and answer any questions about the coaching process. For example; Life coaching is not therapy. Life coaching is an exciting, fun process that facilitates forward movement and boosts self confidence.
From there we can set up designated coaching time, payment and method of payment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Majored in musical performance at Hartt School of Music Hartford Connecticut.
Voice at the Carbonell Conservatory of music, and James Madison University.
Certified to teach the Suzuki method of teaching children from 6 to 12 years old in 1999.
Owned and operated teaching and recording studios for the last 35 years.
Presently, Studio Guitar Lakeside in Richmond Virginia.
Certified iPec life coach in 2007.

My coaching fees are $40.00 per hour. Recommended three month time period.
How did you get started teaching?
In my 20’s I had developed my musical skills to a high level. I was tired of working day jobs and wanted begin earning income from my musical talents. I had no idea how to go about making a business from my talents and there were no courses out there on how to do it. This was very frustrating and frankly a bit depressing. My life dream was to become a musician. How was I ever going to figure out how to make a living from it. One day while visiting my parents book shelf I found the book “Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. From that point on I read devoured any book and enrolled in any seminar that had to do with achieving success. From these books I learned to transform my talents into working business that still continues the grow and thrive.
In 2004 I heard about a new modality called “Life Coaching”. I signed up for a 9 session program with a personal coach. I was so blown away by this new process and the results it produced, I decided to become a life coach.
The bottom line is that artists and musician don’t have to figure it out on their own. The books and the seminars are still there
and now we have trained/certified life coaches that can help us set and achieve the goals we need to have our greatest dreams.
What types of students have you worked with?
I am most interested in working with younger adult musicians and artists passionate about their art and are serious about becoming artists. This can simply mean finding balance between day job and art, or turning their talents into a part-time/full time income.
