I love playing baseball much more than watching baseball. I feel it’s the most complete sport we can participate in. It requires strength with in as much as physical strength. It requires mental power, as much as mental power. It’s more like chest game than checkers.

Becky C. says, ""Even After 3 C-sections, I Now Have Definition, I've Lost 40 lbs, The Loose Skin Is Almost Gone And My Stomach Looks Great!" Six months ago, I was contemplating getting a tummy tuck. After 3- C sections and 2 stomach operations, I had no stomach muscles and couldn't get rid of my "pouch". I had tried everything, every exercise for the stomach there was. Nothing worked. At that time, I had purchased "Burn The Fat" by Tom Venuto. After a few e-mails between us, he recommended your exercise program to me. After words of encouragement and motivation from you and Tom, I made a decision. I called the Doctor and canceled my operation. My goal was to stay committed to your exercise program, Tom's diet plan and to myself. David, its been six months and I have lost 40 pounds, and my stomach looks great! Because of your great core exercises, I now have stomach definition and the loose skin is almost gone! The muscles and strength I now have is amazing. My Doctor is very impressed to say the least. Thirty days into the program I could see and tell things were happening. I have recommended your program to many of my friends and even my personal trainer. They too are amazed at their results. Thank you for your words of encouragement. Best Advice I have ever taken. You have truly helped me change my life."" Read more

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

"This is the first abdominal program I have used that does not center on floor crunch sit-ups. The program is well rounded and I have even passed it on to my high school age kid who plays hockey."
