Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typcially have a phone conversation or email consultation discussing the objectives of each client. For Yoga, it would work best for me to come to clients who have some space in their home, though I do have a small space in my home. For Healing Sessions, clients come to my home.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have spent hundreds of hours in my training as a Yoga Teacher, Life Coach and Energy Healer. My list of certifications is extensive, and I go into more detail on my website. The short version is that I am 800hr certified in teaching Yoga, a Reiki Master in 3 lineages, Hawaiann and Peruvian Shamanism, Professional Aromatherpist, Actutonics Practitioner and Kinesiologist.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing depends on the length of the session. We go over this when we talk about your goals!
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching in 2013, after falling in love with the practice in 2007. I actually didn't plan to teach, but found I have a great ability and affinity for it!
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all sorts of students, especially because I have led 6 teacher trainings. I teach the range from beginner to advanced.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Well, to be VERY current, we just started having more people in the studio after a year away due to COVID. To see my regulars, to make new friendships and connections, has been so wonderful.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't be intimidated to begin! No one is expecting you to be able to do fancy poses. Don't wait until you are "flexible" to begin yoga, this is why we begin, yes? Just start where you are.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Know what kind of guidance you like. Many students appreciate a teacher who will hold them accountable and help them to meet their goals. Others like more easy going approaches. Know what your goals are, and be open minded.
