Bards Eye/Photographer Of Champions
About
I worked as a Multimedia Illustrator and Staff Photographer for 14 years in the US Army and Joint Special Operations and Intelligence community. I was able to train at PDN in New York, WPPI in Las Vegas several times, and have been in-studio for around 20 classes featured at Creative Live on top of owning a studio and being a working photographer in addition to the military for 8 years.
I am EXTENSIVELY trained for a wide variety of disciplines but most enjoy Photo-Journalistic/Candid and Action/Sports shooting. I often do “Volume” Photography for the military, sports leagues, and schools.
I love capturing moments... telling stories (even better than they remembered)... and delivering a pleasing memory for people to treasure
I also enjoy empowering others to pursue photography and expression. Particularly to save them time and money by equipping them with knowledge useful in the path they choose. Many people are misled into spending far too much money on gear in particular. Avoid G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) and call me for at lease one class! It will save you a large amount of money and give you vast resources.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
1. Identify their specific knowledge requirements and current skill level (what are they wanting to shoot).
2. Customize lessons and training to meet their goals and maximize use of their existing gear.
3. Provide guidance on future learning, skill improvement, and recommended gear priorities.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in or taken over 60 courses in a large variety of Photography subjects and also have 20 years experience as a graphic designer and 8 as a photographer.
I also have a MBA in Entrepreneurship and Technology & Innovation... So I can also show people how to get paid for their skills.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I start at $120/month per person for about an hour a week based on location. This rate may adjust for more students and increased frequency.
on-Location field trips may have additional charges based on location and other requirements as necessary.
How did you get started teaching?
I had a studio on a nearby military base and many individuals asked me if I could teach them to shoot better photos... Since the ability to teach something makes your own knowledge even stronger... I said yes!
