Pictures And Words.
About
I have shot and studied portraiture. families, dogs, music venues, weddings, and everything else that falls between the cracks.
I am also a fine art photographer using multiple exposures to create painterly images on canvas.
My approach to art including photography is to learn how to see The rest is just the doing of it
learning how to use your camera is the easy part
I started at 15 as a film photographer There was no such thing as a point and shoot
I teach fundamentals, but more importantly, try to teach people how to see and express their vision with a clear unique eye.
I have had a camera in my hand almost everyday for 45 years. I love to create images. Tell a story. Capture a moment. in whatever way suits the situation and is in tune with my sensibilities.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by staying away from camera talk. My dream is to do a photography workshop where everyone leaves their cameras home. I try to dispel the belief that the camera is taking the picture. People think if they just had a better camera they could take better pictures. It just doesn’t work that way in my experience
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a freelance photographer since 1978
