About
My name is Nicole Winstead and I am the founder and instructor with Full Swing Golf Academy. I have been teaching children, women and men since 2012. I started Full Swing in honor of my father Dr. Arthur Winstead III who was an avid golfer and my best friend.
Full Swing Golf Academy's intention is to train both the golfer and the human physically and mentally, because training the mind and the body in tandem not only perfects the golfer it perfects the human who happens to play golf.
We teach golfers how to reduce transient attention, performance anxiety throught ECT all the while teaching potsure, grip, stance and swing.
Golf is not hard and every person has a natural swing! Difficulties come into play when one vears to far from there natural swing and the inner conversation of how poorly one is doing while in the process of learning (learning by the way will be for the rest of your life)!
Learning to play golf can be easy and fun so allow us to ease your mind and body with our techniques combined with your will, we will have you loving the game before you know it...

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I allow the student to swing without instruction whether they are experienced or new to the game! This allows me to see their natuaral swing.
I get to know my students, because every student manages their game the same way they manage their life, gripping too hard more than likely they support controllng everything in their world, angry everytime they miss a shot or when their swing is off they are beating themselves up for someting else in their life. Knowing this about a student allows me to help them manage their game and help them become a better HUMAN!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing golf since I was 4 years old and I have been teaching since 2012. I have taught over 100 children and have begun teaching adults since 2016.

How did you get started teaching?
My father was an avid golfer, he taught me how to play and taught both my boys! Two days before my father died we had decided to create golf clinics to teach inner city youth how to play golf. He passed away two days after we discussed starting the golf clinics.
In my grief I decided to start the golf academy as a way to be close to my father and in the midst of my grief and building I rediscovered my passion for golf and teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught 100+ childrena and I have taught women and men and I teach and have taught those with disabilities, Autism, Aspergers...
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Honsetly I am fond of each summer clininc that we host! Watching the kids throughout the summer expanding their knowledge and self trust is amazing!!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Any order to learn you must empty your cup!!!! In other words you must be willing to let go of what you think you know and what you do not know! No teacher can pour into you if you are judging yourself, or you are filled with the way you already do it.
Empty your cup and let go!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
First and far most... why? Why do you want to learn? Once you know that everything else will fall into place.
