Hi! My name is Amy Mitchell and I have been passionate about bringing the arts to those who need access or don't have the opportunity for over 10 years! I have been a practicing art teacher for 11 years and love what I do. I have taught from ages 8 months to adult and have taught in various environments from schools, to homes, to private studios and online. I work to instill the love of art to all ages and abilities and have a very high success rate in talents and skill retention. I would love to help you learn more about the arts and share this world with you!

I teach personal or group painting classes, nothing complicated or difficult, just a simple class with a fun prespective on how to develope your own gifts. No rush and go with the flow with brushes thing. I'm very passionate lady, super creative, so, I not only enjoy painting, teaching others is literally what I need to feel alive.

I teach somewhat nontraditional art. I encourage creativity and self-expression in each student and the development of a personal style. It is my belief that this begins at a young age, and as I teach both children and adults we incorporate the basics of composition and color wrapped inside of each project. Most of the art lessons include either watercolor, colored pencils, pastel and occasionally some pencils and charcoal sketching. I participate in extensively in local juried art shows, and have been in three museums. I am also published in two books. I really love art and I think it contributes so much to life. We are documenting, creating and sharing art. Our focus began as Native-American and Latino art then we moved into all tyoes of interesting art and artists from the Southwest.
