About
Our mission is to foster a comprehensive and hands on training program for beginner riders with an emphasis on safety for both our riders and our

Ofelia is a wonderful teacher. Her property is clean and horse are well cared for. Lessons start from the ground up so you can learn the basics of horse care, horse behavior, and riding. The initial lessons are based on a schedule. Subsequent lessons are tailored to what you want to achieve with horses. Ofelia also invites students to equestrian events and horse auctions so you can learn even more!
Highly recommend her program for beginner riders!

My three kids and I are taking lessons from Mrs. Ofelia, and she is a very thorough and conscientious instructor. We were looking for someone to teach us all about horses, not just how to ride. That is exactly what we found. We have been with Ofelia since July and I am impressed by the fact that the focus is safety. We are learning how to be around horses and communicate with them. Ofelia is patient with her students, definitely concerned about safety, and wants her students to succeed. We are learning so much and these lessons are a dream come true for me personally. What I love even more is that my oldest son originally wasn’t interested, but he quickly changed his mind when he saw the lessons in action, and he is doing an amazing job with the horses. My kids are 14, 12 and 9, and all of them are learning a healthy respect for horses and the proper way to work with them. As for me, I’m 40 years old, have loved horses from afar all of my life, and I’m so grateful to have been introduced to Ofelia at Colors of the Desert. Thank you, Ofelia, for doing what you are doing!

Ophelia is a wonderful instructor very patient and kind. As she teaches she explains why and what horses can do and what a rider should know. She is very safety Minded and provides the best training so that a relationship of trust is formed with the horse and you.
