About
Legend Acres offers more than just riding — we provide comprehensive equine education through CHA-certified horseback riding lessons, the Equine Learning Lab, and hands-on in-person labs for both adults and kids.
As a combat-disabled, woman-owned program with national recognition for excellence, we teach English and Western riding for riders ages 3 and up, combining mounted instruction with unmounted horsemanship skills. Our curriculum develops balance, coordination, safety awareness, and horse-handling confidence while deepening understanding of equine behavior, care, and communication.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A phone consulation then an in person meeting for first session or assessment depending on the nature of the session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I currently have a bachelor's in Animal Health Technology/ Pre-Veterinary Medicine from Murray State University. A Masters in Animal Science with a Veterinary Practice Manager Certification at Murray State University. My Thesis is about Equine Osteoarthritis. I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Murray State University in the Animal Health Technology Program. I am a certified Dog Obedience Instructor through Animal Behavior College. AKC Evaluator, CHA Certified Riding Instructor, and CHA Certified Equine Facility Manger. I have a Certification in Equine Nutrition from University of Gelph and a Cognitive Canine Behavior Certification from Duke University. I am a Dog Obedience Mentor for Animal Behavior College and host Externship Students at all our locations. I am a Certified Pet Therapy Handler and Certified Pet Therapy Team with my Golden Retriever Legend through Pet Partners. Legend and I participate in many local schools and programs. I am pursuing a Doctorate of Behavior through Arizona State University and a Behavior Consultant Certification through International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC).

Yes most courses are setup in packages Canine Sessions are 6 weeks (Sessions) for $350 and Riding Lessons and Training are 5 weeks (Sessions) for $250. Payment Plans and customized sessions available for any budget!!!
How did you get started teaching?
I found a need in the pet community on how to build relationships and open communication to help eliviate frustration form the client and the dog or horse.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked will all ages and all breeds.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask about methods and what the training goals and outcomes involve. Meet them or talk on the phone before hiring!!!
