I have played baseball/softball for a little under 30 years. I currently still play men's recreational softball at Victory Lane Sports Park. I played for Northern Arizona University for a few years while I studied and received my Bachelor's Degree of Psychological Sciences and Business Administration. I am able and willing to teach beginners-intermediate skill levels, whether the student is starting from square one or trying to hone in on specific aspects of their game. We will break down each facet of the game and prioritize the areas needing the most attention to become the best overall player. I will also help the athletes develop as an in

I pitched professionally for 10 years with parts of 3 years in the Major Leagues with the Texas Rangers. I have coached with the Seattle Mariners, Toronto Blue Jays, and Texas Rangers. I love coaching and seeing players develop. I understand that getting better is a process and approach my lessons with a very positive attitude. I am not a one size fits all coach. I believe that each player is different and needs to find their own way with my help along the way. I absolutely love seeing the progress. I also enjoy building relationships with players and want to help guide them through their journeys. Coaching is my passion....

Becoming a personal trainer and baseball coach has always been a dream of mine because I have a deep passion for fitness, sports, and helping others reach their full potential. From a young age, I found joy in both physical activity and the sense of teamwork in sports. Baseball, in particular, became a central part of my life, teaching me discipline, perseverance, and the importance of strategy. As a personal trainer, I enjoy working one-on-one with clients, helping them achieve their fitness goals and improve their health. The satisfaction I get from seeing someone transform physically and mentally is unmatched. I believe that fitness is a

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.
