Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The typical process is a friendly informative first lesson, teaching them from the ground up about the Equine, how to groom, tack up and ride, YES ride the first lesson. Very seamless and fun. Each lesson you learn something new to apply to the next lesson, continuing your education with some readings recommended by the instructor prove beneficial.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education consist of a Degree in Business., over 50 years of combined training with top trainers in Arizona, from halter to performance and breeding. Managed boarding, training and breeding facilities, learning every aspect of a working ranch from the ground up. Applying my knowledge obtained to my own business with success in training, coaching and showing.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing is all inclusive at $40/hr.
If the student is committed and really wants to learn to ride, I will put together a package with promotional incentives.
How did you get started teaching?
My passion is horses and their well being. We are their stewards, to keep them safe, alive and with respect they deserve. Teaching others is one way to educate people about these animals, which can be very dangerous, if not handled properly. They are truly "gentle giants" with a big heart and sweet soul. I can't imagine doing anything else.
What types of students have you worked with?
My students that I have worked with range anywhere from 7 years old to retired professiomal 60 year olds. The older students have always wanted to be able to ride and eventually own their own horse, their passion and desire is strong.
I also groom young students to be champions 🏆🏆🏆. Which In turn, teaches them responsibility, gives them confidence to accomplish anything and feel good about themselves FOR their accomplishments.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When looking for a trainer, you really need to take a lesson with them to see if you mesh with them. Everyone doesn't get along with everyone, or like their style of teaching.
You are paying to learn; and you should ultimately like your trainer, to progress into smooth transitions of learning.
