Amy Z. says, "Bucket is a wonderful teacher! He has been working with my son for almost 2 years now on drum set in all genres as well as helping him reach his goal of making drumline in marching band. He is positive and encouraging and has great energy! My son has learned so much skill wise, but also has become more confident as a person. He really cares about creating a well rounded drummer and helping his students achieve their goals. I highly recommend Bucket as a drum teacher! We feel lucky to have found him! " Read more

Dylan G. says, "Johnny’s teachings help you develop your rhythm and sound a lot better by diving into the mechanics very early, which helped me a lot out with learning on my own. What I enjoyed most was we would sometimes put on a song from my playlist, and make it a project to listen and learn." Read more

Shane V. says, "Brandon has been teaching me and my family for upwards of 10 years. The knowledge and teaching skills he has are top of the line. He will take you from an absolute beginner to a professional musician if you give him the time. This is coming from a student who is now a professional musician working on his own business. Will recommend to anybody wanting to learn to master their instrument. " Read more

My teaching methods are personalised to every individual student according to there learning comprehension strengths and weaknesses. The 1st objective goal is for the student to obtain 4 limb independence while playing the drums. It's my belief that musicians are born. And few people have the privilege of learning this art form. Also, even fewer understand the true work and dedication and integrity that one must possess to bring their gifts to their absolute Pinnacle of progress.

My teaching approach: My desire is to help each student achieve their goals by making music fun & applicable to their needs and situation, directing them towards proficiency and self-sufficiency. I taught private guitar lessons and in many music stores for over 40 years, guitar courses in college for 6 years, in a performing arts charter high school for 4 years, and in elementary/middle school for 8 years. My influences are: Too many to mention, but you can start with the folksingers from the 50's to the 60's, the rock.pop, and blues players from the 50's to today. Mike S. says, "Matt has been my guitar teacher over the past year and his help has been very significant in my improvement as a guitar player. Matt has helped me through multiple songs such as the Allman Brothers version of “Stormy Monday”, “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi and Led Zeppelins “Gallows Pole”. More importantly Matt has definitely improved my rhythm playing as well as my ability to play solos. He has also taught me about the role of the guitar player in a band and relates that role to rhythm, chords and solos that are played. He provided a structure that helped me better learn the fret board. Matt is very competent with music theory and conveys what is necessary for the student to be more competent and further enjoy playing guitar. At each of our lessons Matt demonstrates his expertise in music and guitar. Additionally, and important to me, is that Matt represents and conducts himself in a polite and professional manner. He is easy and fun to work with and cares about the success of his students." Read more

I have 40 years of experience playing, and teaching several instruments. I have lots of really good curriculum that makes the process foolproof. I emphasise learning to read music as well as tablature. Lots of live and studio experience. Worked with many acts on both local and national level. Currently working on an album. I’m also a local luthier. I'm currently offering online lessons. Music is my life, and I’ve dedicated my life to it. It’s what I am best at. I love teaching students, especially beginners. I can teach them the proper way and not have to experience the pain and aguish of being self taught. One thing watching videos cannot d...

While the basics and notation are So very helpful, I think its important to teach basic beast and grooves to get the student playing music. Making it fun. Reading notation, rudiments are essential tools, playing along with music or other musicians as soon as possible are what keeps it interesting. Seeing new students progress and smile when they figure things out, like a new groove or beat. Learning to play an instrument has life long rewards if you have the interest and make the effort to progress....

Bucket, was my Captain of Dos Pueblos High School Drum Core. He was also my Captain of Santa Barbara Dolls Drum Core. We were not only good, but we were the best. One year we performed in Los Angeles, as the Santa Barbara Dolls Drum Core, and not just won, but scored a 99.8 %. Bucket, was always patient, calm, but persistent to get the best out of each one of us. Not only could he write cadences, but he could design the best movements of the snare line, Quads, and Base Drums. Drums sticks tricks, back sticking, base drums walking backwards, keeping it really fun for the player and the crowd, but with a disciplined military overall theme. There is only one musician better than Bucket, and that was his Mentor, and Band Director, Dr. Ike Jenkins, who brought out the best in him. I’ve travelled all over the world playing drums myself with bands, but still haven’t met anyone as talent as Emanuel “Bucket” Baker. Yes, a great man, with a great heart, who only wants the best from you, and while spend hours and hours to make sure your the best.
