I believe creative expression is a birth right! I have been facilitating people of all ages and abilities in visual arts for 30+years both in the States and in Central Mexico where I founded a small Art Center in the 1990's. I offer workshops and classes designed to both teach skills and to support participants to access 'inner vision' that guides us in our creative explorations. My work over the years has included children ages 4-12, teens, adults and seniors. I have years of experience with special needs community members and seniors. NOTE:  Due to Covid-19 All lessons will be through Zoom or Google Video until further notice. * I love to paint and be creative.  I am passionate about oils but I do like to paint with acrylics or sometimes water colors I like to have fun and listen to non-vocal music such as Chopin,  DeBussy or piano while I paint.  As a teacher, I like people to understand what they are doing at a higher level than just putting paint on the canvases, or sketching on a paper, there is a lot more logic to this and if someone understands this, it helps them create a wonderful piece they'll enjoy for many years!  ... Most of my professional life I worked as medical doctor, treating patients and teaching students. I started drawing when I was at medical school and I think that I was quite successful- one of my first albums was immediately stolen. I resumed drawing nine years ago, but the trigger for this was twelve years ago when in my dream I saw a beautiful sunrise in the mountains...Plus, approval of my way in art by Lou Maestas, one of the greatest artists in US, whom I am admiring. Plus, I would like to say words of thankfulness to my teachers Christina MacNearney and Matthias Duwel. I have graduated from courses of drawing and oil painting at Pima C ... View Profile

I seek to have students learn by gaining a deeper understanding of the subject matter. My desire is for a student to be asking questions, testing their ideas, and purposefully finding the right processes to assist with their analysis. To grow and attain success, students must give considerable rigor to find the deeper meaning to their work, especially in art. I meet this challenge by encouraging students to problem solve through research, following the proper processes, and face uncertainty with curiosity and a desire to understand. As an example of my belief in the power of why, consider the example of teaching computer software to students ... View Profile
