Noel is an amazing player and teacher, together we have worked on proper technique, ear training, music theory, composition, and various practice methods. Since meeting him I have become a much better guitar player, and overall musician. My favorite part about working with him is his ability to learn any song by ear within minutes, which we can then dissect together. He is truly the full package, and I strongly recommend him to any student, beginner, or professional looking to improve. Very grateful to have met him, and am looking forward to taking lessons for the foreseeable future!

Within ONE lesson, Howard could pinpoint EXACTLY what my trouble areas are, and not only is he able to articulate a very clear plan for dealing with those, but he has also helped me with the burdening amount of pain that plagues my joints and muscles when I play something technically demanding! Furthermore, he is very focused, understanding, knowledgeable and gentle! After having many verbally.... difficult teachers whose teaching involved quite a bit of negative reinforcement, it is an absolute pleasure and an eye opening experience to have a patient, understanding teacher. Some people may learn quite well in that fashion, and there was a period of time when I actually believed, or rather was brainwashed into thinking that being verbally berated would serve as motivation. But now I see quite clearly that is not the case: I learn a lot better and I am more motivated to practice when I find it a pleasure to go to my piano lessons! Dylan is by far one of the best guitar teachers I've ever had. I haven't been playing guitar for very long and most of the teachers I've had mad me feel rushed when it came to trying to master the basics. Dylan however was so easy to work with and didn't make make me feel pressured to learn everything on the dot. He took the time to work with me and made me the center of his attention for the entire lesson. I felt like I had more improvement with myself as a player under his instruction than with my previous teachers.

Brett is absolutely a world-class musician and a phenomenal teacher. I'm not a professional guitarist, but I am a professional musician. Brett is THE best guitarist I've ever worked with in any context, by a huge margin. He can play and teach at a world-class level in literally any musical genre and playing style. Jazz? Yep. Metal? Yep. Extremely technical shredding? yep. Extremely expressive, beautiful acoustic music? Yep. Complex jazz harmony? Yep. It's genuinely astonishing. When I reached out for lessons, I'd already been playing guitar for over 20 years, but had plateaued at a kind of weird advanced-intermediate limbo for a very long time. I explained my goals and current ability to Brett when we first talked about lessons, and unlike other teachers who claim to provide tailored lessons but actually don't, Brett's lessons genuinely were very tailored specifically to ME. He of course had some well-prepared materials that we used, but how closely or loosely we adhered to them varied depending completely on what I wanted to focus on during a given period of time. He also developed materials specifically for the things we were working on. His attention to detail is astonishing, and his ability to convey complex concepts very simply is second to none. Beyond being able to teach incredibly well at ANY level, he pushed my philosophical limits as a musician, as a creator. He helped me to approach not just the guitar, but music and composition in completely new ways. He inspired me to become curious about everything I do on guitar. To become playful with the instrument, and with my own pursuit of knowledge. I developed a newfound enthusiasm for PRACTICE but also for exploration of the instrument. I believe that lesson with Brett contributed significantly to helping me become a much better guitarist, composer, and musician. You absolutely will not find a better, more knowledgeable, adaptable, and understanding teacher than Brett. I will definitely work with him again.
