What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process for working with a new student is to determine their existing knowledge and skill set and design a clear plan to meet the goals of the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a mastery level license to teach golf, a certification given by the Ladies Professional Golf Association indicating that I am a trained and educated with an expertise emphasis in coaching and teaching golf.
How did you get started teaching?
I started playing golf at age 8 and was enrolled in golf camps across the state of California, including those hosted by elite golf university teams and was offered a position to help the younger players at local golf courses when I was just a Sophomore in high school. I went on to play NCAA DIVISION 1 golf on a full scholarship, finally attaining my LPGA status after college and have consistently taught and studied golf ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with day 1 beginners both male and female, young and old will skill sets ranging from no experience all the way up to tour professionals.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Start with one lesson and make sure you have good communication and good results with your instructor before committing to long term lesson plans.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Always inquire about your instructor's qualifications and their experience related background.
