Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach/review the fundamentals of the golf swing whether I am working with a beginner golfer or a seasoned veteran of the game. I will make sure that I help all new students accomplish their goals and most important thing I do is to demonstrate my infectious love for the game of golf!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am LPGA certified to teach and coach golf and I played professionally on LPGA tour for many years. Last year I became a Life Member of the LPGA which is the top level instructor rating. I graduated University of California.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Private Golf lessons cost $90/45 minute lesson
Semi private golf lessons cost $75/45 minute lesson per person
Groups of 3 or more cost $$60/hour lesson per person
How did you get started teaching?
After retiring from playing golf professionally, I moved to Orange County 25 years ago and received a telephone call asking me if I would be interested in coaching Laguna Beach High School golf team. I loved the idea and proceeded to Coach for several years. I began teaching private lessons to many parents of the golf team members and I decided to teach full time since then. I love teaching golf and I plan to continue doing so in the years ahead.
What types of students have you worked with?
I teach all levels of golfers from beginners to tour players! I have had wonderful experiences with Chronically injured people and with students that have not had success with other instructors.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently went to qualify for the LPGA US Open! I was nominated for National Teacher of the Year in the United States in 2019 and 2020. Such an honor, I am grateful.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Please take golf lessons from a certified and licensed instructor! Many people teach advice that they have picked up from golf magazines and golf videos. You are paying for lessons that are specific for YOU, not for the masses.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I believe that a student should identify their goals and the time that they can dedicate to their golf. Whether you are taking lessons to prepare for a tournament, or some enjoyable time with your spouse or friends, or even taking one lesson to fix one particular aspect of your game, communicate your goals to your instructor
Should I go out and buy a set of clubs before I start my golf lessons? No!!! Let me help you select the best equipment for your height, strength, and your budget.
