FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to have a student get comfortable in the environment so they can perform naturally, a brief warm up around the greens putting and chipping followed by a warming up on the range is a great start.  I'll record some swings, capture some data with my technology if need be and identify the key points that need to be addressed to make improvements to the students golf game.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have extensive education and training pertaining to teaching golf.  I am a Certified and Licensed AimPoint Express Instructor specializing in Putting and Short Game instruction and Full Swing instruction.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

All my pricing is available through my website, visit SeanLanyiGolf.com as I have a variety of programs and prices available for juniors and adults.

How did you get started teaching?

Started teaching golf in early 2000 after playing competive ice hockey, roller hockey, soccer and tennis before committing to a career in the game of golf.  I played on numerous professional golf tours, captured one professional win and enjoy working with players of all ages and skill levels.

What types of students have you worked with?

I work with players of all ages and skill levels.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Ryder Cup is one of my favorite events!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

There is a lot of bad information in the world of golf instruction, there is also very good information from a few key individuals that have been fortunate to have great mentors in their career, surround yourself with a winning team, make sure your golf instructor knows how to build a plan for you to improve.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

A student needs to have goals in mind going into taking lessons, what do they want out of lessons besides the obvious to play better golf.
