I love to teach people to read. I feel strongly that reading is a crucial skill to develop, as it grants you the freedom to learn continuously and become self-sufficient. I love giving people the tools they need to go out and create the life they want when they are older. It’s truly amazing to witness a student transform from lacking confidence to someone who believes in their ability to succeed. Hello, My name is Yao, and I graduated in Tsinghua University with a Doctor degree, Materials Science and Engineering. I used to be a calculus assistant for the professor for college students. I have been working with children in the community since 2008. I currently work as a Special Education Trainee for Los Angeles Unified School District. I am 28 units from becoming A Special Education Teacher. I have passed the CBEST and recieved a 39 out of 40 on the math. Math has always been my strong subject. I have also passed the college writing course and would be a good tutor for reading, history and English.
