About

My name is Grace Walker and I am a passionate equestrian originating from Southern California, USA. I have had an appreciation and love for horses as well as for the abilities one can achieve while riding ever since I can remember. I did not come from a family with a horse background, so I began my journey in my local Pony Club as well as on the sandy trails along the Santa Margarita River.

In my journey to reach where I am today, I have had many learning opportunities such as owning and working with a very diverse pool of mounts. I have been riding consistently since the age of seven, taking weekly private lessons as well as exercising my own horses each day. Most of my journey has focused on the disciplines of Eventing and Show Jumping, however, when attending Houghton College located in West New York, I deepened my understanding and love for Dressage. Although I continue to jump and further my knowledge in Eventing and Show Jumping, I strive each day to achieve excellence in the discipline of Dressage as I have found it to be a true passion of mine.

In the recent past, I have worked and trained under Susan Barisone Gilson at SBG Dressage in the Rochester Area, as well as trained and competed with my horse Cadenza's Flemming. Currently, I work at Arroyo Del Mar in San Diego, riding for Dawn White O’Connor and also serving as the Arroyo Del Mar Barn Manager.

Grace is the best teacher I ever had!! She is observant and patient. She has a real gift for explaining things. It is almost if she is riding the horse with me! Very knowledgeable, and really has a great feel for the rider and the horse. I would highly recommend her at every level!!
