About this pro

We have a unique riding club at my ranch in Poway where horse lovers of all ages come together to learn all about horse care and riding in a fun family environment.  You can check us out on Yelp under Clare's Riding Club in Poway also.

Thank you for considering taking riding lessons here with me on my lovely horses.  I would love to have you here!  Usually, our group lessons are 3 hours of horsemanship and riding. For private lessons, they last about 1.5-2+ hours. My web-site ( is in the process of being updated but you can check us out there, and Clare's Riding Club on YELP as it goes into my riding and teaching philosophy as well as our unique lesson program.  I want all of my riders, of all ages, to be well rounded equestriennes who take good care of their horse partners, can ride over fences (which is my forte'), on trails (at walk, trot and canter, over logs, including up and down hills, over different terrain, through water),  basic dressage movements for balance and harmony, and in the arena.  We go to some Hunter/Jumper, Horse Trials and Dressage shows in the area and have Fun shows here for those students who like showing, but are not a show barn.  Our love for horses is what drives us!  We have so much fun here and are a horse lovers paradise.

Our horses and those who want to learn and spend time with them in a relaxed environment!

Our daughter has been riding under Clare's watchful eye for almost 5 years. We started when our daughter was very young and have always felt that Clare has been the perfect fit for her. She is kind and extremely attentive. What I love most is that the kiddos not only learn how to ride (and very well at that!), but also learn about (and take part in) all the other responsibilities that come with horses! The perfect place to raise a 'Barn Rat'! (And Clare loves all of her students almost as much as she loves her horses! 😉)

I am a first year college student and have ridden at Clare’s Riding Club since I was a kid—I can truly say that the experience that I have had at Clare’s has been invaluable, as a horsewoman and a person. I have met some of my closest friends here and had amazing opportunities as a rider, and I can not recommend Clare’s patient teaching style or the barn atmosphere enough!

Our daughter is with Clare ‘s Riding Club for over four years and she loves it. The clare b is like one big family. Several kids started at very young age and stayed on until they left for college. The children learn everything about riding and taking good care of a horse, including riding skills, horsemanship, grooming, feeding, veterinary care, etc. The lessons are open ended so they can stay longer and help before and after their lesson, if they like. The older, more experienced students who are enrolled in the student assistant program help with the lessons and are great role models. Parents are welcome to stay, watch the lessons, or walk with the group when they go on trails. I highly recommend Clare’s Riding Club.
